Everybody Loves a Beautiful View

Everyone loves dinner with a view. That’s why I am listing where you can go to find good food and beautiful sights.

Please note, most of these unique spots are located inside hotels and resorts. Why? Because certain building codes restrict how tall buildings can be built. Things are starting to change, but there aren't many tall buildings in Scottsdale, and that's by design.

Also, a lot of the hotels and resorts in the valley are built on mountains so they have the privilege of the views over stand alone restaurants.

Outrider Rooftop at the Canopy

I decided to start in south Scottsdale and work my way north.

Out Rider Rooftop Lounge in the Canopy Hotel

Located in the Arts district of Downtown Scottsdale, this rooftop Bar is fun and young and trendy. They drinks are delicious and fresh and you can see a beautiful sunset from the West-facing patio.

The Phoenician

Also located in south Scottsdale on the South side of Camelback Mountain, The Thirsty Camel is where you can get a beautifle view of the valley and a darn good cocktail. It was actually rated one of the top bars in the world by Forbes Travel Guide.

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain

The Sanctuary is technically located in Paradise Valley, however since I noted the views from the Phoenician on the South Side of the mountain. I feel its only fair to mention the amazing views that you get at Elements at the Sanctuary on the North side of the mountain. AND since the Sanctuary is built into the mountain, you also get stunning views of the rocks and cliffs all around you. If you want an up close and personal look at The Praying Monk, this is your spot!

Elements - $$$

Orange Sky at Talking Stick

Orange Sky is the restaurant at the top of the Talking Stick Casino. With almost 360° views of the valley, you can see Scottsdale to the West and The Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Reservation to the East. It’s a great place get a high-end dinner before gamming or catching a show.

Onyx Bar and Talavera at the Four Seasons

Located at about as far north as you can go, in Scottsdale in the Four Seasons Resort and Spa, Talavera Steakhouse has beautiful sweeping views of the entire valley. It gets a bit warm in the summer months since it is a South facing patio but it really is spectacular. If you only want to enjoy a beverage a not a full meal, the Onyx Bar just off the lobby has a patio that you can enjoy as well.

So when you decide that you can't stand to stare at another wall while enjoying you dinner, or the back of a bar while sipping you beverage, give one of these places a try!
